The fighter or martial artist searches outward for an edge. A secret technique, strategy, special diet, strict training regime, the list goes on. The search is endless because the answer is never out there.
The vastness of martial arts is not a library of moves, neither knowledge, or even skill. There are things in play you cannot see, or matter in fact explain, but know. It is the depth of a single person willing to look honestly at themselves. Being genuine to their core, not fabricating nor imitating, but through authenticity.
There will never be another Kobe Bryant, Picasso, Michael Jackson or Mozart. You can learn from the greats in any field, and realize something within.
Training is the slow sculpting of attention. Parts of yourself that flinch, gets angry or passive, that holds back, that wants to quit, that wants validation, only you will know.
Self reflection, digging deeper and refusing to look away.
